clueTip

The clueTip plugin is a good tool for showing "popup DIVs". These DIVs can contain more information (such as traditional tooltips), or can become part of an applications interface and allow interaction within the popup. The contents of the popup can either be hard coded on the page, or loaded via Ajax.
