jQuery is a JavaScript library. But it does use JavaScript in a way that has not been traditionally taught. Between anonymous functions and JavaScript Object Notation, a novice JavaScript user may be a little confused.

This section covers the non-jQuery specific aspects of JavaScript that will be encountered, and some of the more common techniques.
